After defeating Australia to 8th week in the Boxing Day test, India looks forward to continuing the win when they take the field in Sydney on January 7. The Sydney Cricket Grounds favor spin bowlers and are known for having adequate spin handling capabilities. Ajinkya Rahane & Co has a definite opportunity to take advantage of these conditions against the shaky Australian batting lineup.
As witnessed in Melbourne, the Indian spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja is currently proving its effectiveness. Their bowling partnership prevented Australian batters with pace attacks. If this combination takes part in the third test, India will likely dominate the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1.

In the same words, former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha said the partnership between Ashwin and Jadeja was great and India should play both in the next match.
“Sydney has a track record of helping spinners. I’m sure you shouldn’t change the combination of Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja,” Ojha told Sports Today.

“The way Jadeja hit [in Melbourne] With Ashwin I know he can bet. These people are also marvelous at bowling. If one person is tight, the other person picks up the turnstile and vice versa. So I think this partnership is great and it will be great if they continue abroad.”
The former cricketer also cited examples of former Indian spinners Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh, who hunted in pairs and led India to several victories. Ojha believes that Ashwin and Jadeja can be combined to defeat all opposition no matter what the conditions are.

“We have Anil Bhai [Anil Kumble] And Bhajju Paa [Harbhajan Singh] Did it for us in the past. Now these two people abroad… I don’t think there is anything more to ask for,” Ojha further said.
Meanwhile, the left arm tuner T Natarajan was included in the Indian Test squad for the rest of the series. He replaced Umesh Yadav, who was eliminated after suffering a calf injury during two innings of a Boxing Day test match.
